Properties of the sterile and pharmaceutical pumps
No dead space in the entire pump interior, including the mechanical seal area
Gap-free design in the area of the impeller seal, cover seal, etc.
The easy-to-clean design allows the pump to be emptied completely. The connections for the residual emptying are selected according to customer requirements, e.g: Tri-Clamp, diaphragm valve (manual or automatic). As an option, we recommend the dead space-free SAWA RE15 residual discharge valve
Excellent CIP and SIP properties
Surface roughness of all pump parts that come into contact with the medium (pump body, pump cover, impeller, pump shaft, impeller nut, mechanical seal) up to Ra < 0.4μm possible on customer request
Produced from solid stainless steel 1.4435 (316L)
SAWA standard always electropolished, regardless of the requirement for Ra values
Delta ferrite content < 1%/BN2 < 0.5%
A variety of different connections are available
Various mechanical seal systems or magnetic coupling possible
Surface roughness
The surfaces of our SAWA stainless steel pumps are machined for pharmaceutical and sterile technology according to customer requirements, so that the pump parts in contact with the product can have surface roughness values of Ra < 0.4μm. Optionally, the surface roughness can be certified by a measurement report. The pump parts are machined accordingly to achieve the required surface roughness:
Machining such as turning and milling
Mechanical processing such as grinding and polishing
The pump parts are electropolished as standard in the finishing process, regardless of the Ra value requirement
Flow-optimized
The flow-optimized design results in efficient and quiet operation across the required application range and enables very gentle pumping. It also ensures hygienic operation and quick cleaning of the pump. The generously dimensioned, conical seal housing ensures optimum flushing around the CIP-compatible and sterilizable mechanical seal. In addition, the ideal flow conditions ensure that the O-rings are flushed.
