Pump Series for a Plant Engineer

Twelve pumps, two models, one order.

Our production facility in Degersheim recently completed a small series of twelve pumps for a plant manufacturer in Austria; these pumps will ultimately be used in the pharmaceutical industry. The order consists of two different pump types that will be used together in the same system.

The SAWA HDP160/2-XT side-channel pump handles pumping tasks requiring higher heads with smaller flow rates. The SAWA LEP150-50/40-XT centrifugal pump is designed for higher flow rates. Both types are manufactured entirely from 1.4435 stainless steel, electropolished to a surface roughness of less than 0.8 µm, and equipped with aseptic collar flanges in accordance with DIN 11864.

In the future, these pumps will handle CIP media, ultrapure water, and WFI at temperatures up to 130 degrees. The requirements for materials and sealing concepts are correspondingly high. Before shipment, each individual pump undergoes a specific test on our test bench, which is documented in a test report.
