API Pumps

SAWA Pumpentechnik AG has been the general agency of the German company Dickow Pumpen GmbH & Co KG for Switzerland since 1979. The company Dickow is a manufacturer for pumps according to API 685 / API 610 for chemical and petrochemical applications such as: Tank farms for fuels, liquid gases, chemicals, hot water and heat transfer oils (from +400°C to -120°C), or airfield refuelling.

Applications of API pumps

The hermetically sealed PRM pumps are used wherever leakage is not permitted and the highest demands are placed on safety and availability.

This means especially when pumping toxic, explosive and generally environmentally harmful media.

Pump types of our API pumps

API pumps type PRM / PRMW according to API 685, 2nd edition. DICKOW pumps of the PRM series according to API 685 are hermetically sealed centrifugal pumps with permanent magnetic couplings, without shaft feed-through to atmosphere. The containment can seals the pumped medium to the outside with chambered flat seals. The pumps comply with the requirements of API 685 and are designed for a minimum service life of 20 years and a minimum service life in continuous operation of 3 years (excluding wearing parts). Maximum flow rates and heads: 50 Hz: 900 m3/h and 150 m, 60 Hz: 1000 m3/h and 215 m. Construction: The PRM pumps are single-stage, single-entry volute casing pumps with closed impellers in process design, with axial suction port and discharge port pointing vertically upwards. The mechanical design complies with API 685. The volute casing forms the pressurised unit with the separately bolted containment shell. This means that the bearing bracket with the external magnetic coupling can be disassembled without draining the pump itself or removing it from the pipeline.

API pumps type PRMW >> Heat transfer oil circulation pump with multistage cooler. The PRMW pump with multistage cooler was developed for pumping thermal oils up to 400°C. The stack cooler reduces the temperature in the magnetic area to a maximum of 250°C and keeps dirt and rust deposits of the piping system away from the magnetic coupling.

API pumps type PRM b the version with heating jacket. The PRM b pump with heatable containment shell and volute casing is available for pumping media whose melting temperature is above the ambient temperature. The heating chambers are designed for operating pressures up to 24 bar, at temperatures up to 250°C.

API Pumps Type NCR Process pumps according to API 610, 9th edition. These pumps comply with API 610, 9th ed. / ISO 13709 and were developed for use in the chemical, petrochemical and related industries. The maximum flow rates are 700 m3/h. The maximum heads are 145 mFS with 2900 min-1 and 220 mFS with 3500 min-1. The mechanical seal systems can be manufactured according to API plan 11, 31, 52 or 53.
